HISTORIAE

Imago Mortis were born in the Bergamo valleys during the night of Samhain in 1994 by the will of Abibial and Maelstrom. From the beginning, Black Metal has been the expressive form through which the congregation decides to explore the dark sides of existence and the arcane balance that govern it. After the realization of several demo tapes, splits and compilations, in 2005 they reached a deal with the French label Drakkar Productions with which they make four albums and an ep. This initiatory path leads them to express their own peculiarities, both from a musical and conceptual point of view, emphasized through the use of Italian and archaic languages, such as the seventeenth-century vernacular, Latin and the Bergamo language. Over time the band has also distinguished itself for an intense live activity, dark rituals through which it evokes the mysterious energies of the cosmos.


Gli Imago Mortis nascono nelle vallate bergamasche la notte di Samonios del 1994 dalla volontà di Abibial e Maelstrom. Sin dal principio il Black Metal è la forma espressiva attraverso cui la congregazione decide di esplorare i lati oscuri dell’esistenza e gli arcani equilibri che la governano. Dopo la realizzazione di diversi demo tape, split e compilation, nel 2005 approdano alla label francese Drakkar Productions per la quale realizzeranno quattro album e un ep. Questo cammino iniziatico di ricerca li porterà ad esprimere delle proprie peculiarità, sia dal punto di vista musicale che concettuale, enfatizzate maggiormente attraverso l'uso dell’italiano e di lingue arcaiche, come il vernacolare seicentesco, il latino e la lingua bergamasca. La band nel tempo si è distinta inoltre per un’intensa attività live, cupi rituali attraverso i quali evoca le misteriose energie del cosmo.
