HISTORIAE
Gli Imago Mortis nascono dall’oscurità delle menti di Abibial (basso/voce) e Maelstrom (chitarra) la terza notte del Trinvxtion
Samoni, dell’anno 1994.
Il Black Metal è sin dal principio la forma espressiva degli Imago
Mortis, attraverso il quale la band esplora i lati oscuri
dell’anima. Per questo motivo essi risultano essere ancora oggi uno
dei gruppi più radicali e tradizionalisti che celebrano il verbo
occulto.
Nel gennaio del 1995 si unisce alla band Hezrel in veste di secondo
chitarrista. Nello stesso anno vengono esaminati anche diversi
batteristi, ma puntualmente scartati per la loro assente devozione
alla causa. Nonostante queste difficoltà di assestamento, gli Imago
Mortis hanno continuato il loro cammino, dando origine a diversi
brani, mentre nel 1997 Fenrir diviene il nuovo batterista della
band.
La band inizia sin da subito un’attività concreta esibendosi in
diverse date live, sino alla registrazione del demo “Malleus
Maleficarum” stampato professionalmente in 300 copie. Il demo
riscuote buone critiche nell’underground italiano ed estero portando
la band alla partecipazione di diverse compilation su tape e Cd.L’anno successivo, nel 1999, viene realizzato il secondo demo tape
“Danza Macabra” stampato in sole 33 copie, che riconferma la band
sul panorama underground. |

I due pezzi di questo demo tape compariranno nelle cd compilation
“Screams from Italy vol. V” e “Ordinis Reliquiae vol. I”. Alla fine
dello stesso anno Hezrel decide di abbandonare la band.
Nel 2000 esce per la T.R.P. il live tape “Daemoni Vivunt” contenete
un brano inedito. Al posto di Hezrel subentra Laarin alla seconda
chitarra. Nell’inverno 2001 viene realizzato il quarto lavoro della
band il demo/album “Mors Triumphalis” in versione Cd-r. L’
underground label francese Drakkar Productions decide di ristampare
il lavoro su versione tape con 2 bonus tracks in 300 copie (DK033).
Nel 2002 Maelstrom abbandona gli Imago Mortis. La band continua la
sua attività per circa un anno con la formazione a tre, e compone
altri brani che vengono raccolti nello split cd “Brixheim”.
Nel novembre del 2002 entra nella band Heltron come secondo
chitarrista, con il quale viene realizzata una cover di Burzum “Et
Hvitt Lys Over Skogen” che verrà inclusa nel tributo italiano
“Burzum, a man, a band, a symbol” uscito nel 2004 per la underground
label Wotan Reich (r.i.p.) in versione pro Cd-r limitato a 500
copie. |

Invocazioni - Bass & Invocations |
A luglio del 2004 viene registrato il promo “Black Arctic Sun”. A
settembre Laarin abbandona gli Imago Mortis e viene sostituito da
Scighéra.
La band raggiunge in breve tempo un contratto con la Drakkar
Productions per la realizzazione del Cd "Una Foresta Dimenticata",
che viene rilasciato a novembre del 2006 in 1000 esemplari,
riscuotendo un discreto apprezzamento a livello internazionale.

Nella primavera del 2007 Heltron decide di abbandonare gli Imago
Mortis a causa motivazioni personali, venendo sostituito dal
chitarrista Faust. A dicembre dello stesso anno Drakkar Productions
realizza la ristampa in versione CD di "Mors Triumphalis" contenente
l'omonimo demo/album, il demo "Danza Macabra" ed alcune bonus tracks.
Nell' aprile del 2008 gli Imago Mortis decidono di separare il
proprio destino musicale dal batterista Fenrir, che viene sostituito
dal nuovo batterista Bjorgor.
Tra la fine del 2008 e i primi mesi del 2009 la band registra presso
gli Alfa Omega Studios l’album “Ars Obscura” che vedrà oscurità
sotto le insegne della Drakkar Productions.
A luglio 2009 Bjorgor cessa la propria attività con la band per
potersi ristabilire dopo alcuni problemi di salute, venendo
rimpiazzato dal nuovo drummer Axor.
L’Orda oscura continua il proprio percorso sotto le insegne della
Drakkar Productions.

Imago Mortis was born from the dark side of Abibial (bass/voice) and
Maelstrom (guitar) the third night of
Trinvxtion Samoni
in 1994.
From the beginning the Black Metal is the way of expression of the
band, through which they explore the obscure side of the soul. For
this reason, still today, they can be considered one of the most
radical and traditionalist band that celebrates the occult verb.
On January 1995 Hezrel joined them as second guitarist. In the same
year several drummers were tested but they were all rejected for
lack of devotion. In spite of these difficulties, Imago Mortis
continued with care their work. They gave birth to many songs. In
1997 a new drummer, Fenrir, entered the band.
Then the band started a concrete activity with live shows, up to
recording their first demo tape "Malleus Maleficarum" professionally
produced in 300 copies. The demo tape received good reviews in the
Italian and foreign underground. Thanks to this success, the band
obtained to participate in many compilations on tape and Cd.

One
year later, in 1999, Imago Mortis created the second demo tape
"Danza Macabra" limited to 33 copies, that reconfirmed the band.
Two
tracks from this demo tape appear on the Cd compilation "Screams
from Italy vol. V" and "Ordinis Reliquiae vol. I". At the end of the
year Hezrel decided to leave the band.
In
2000 the live tape "Daemoni Vivunt", containing an unreleased song,
was issued by T.R.P. Laarin joined Imago Mortis as second guitarist.
In winter 2001 they created the demo/album "Mors Triumphalis" in
Cd-r version. The French underground label Drakkar Productions
decided to republish it on tape, with two bonus tracks, in 300
copies (DK033).
In
2002 Maelstrom left Imago Mortis. The band composed of three members
gave birth to other songs collected in "Brixheim" split cd.
On
November 2002 Heltron joined the band as second guitarist. Then
Imago Mortis covered Burzum's "Et Hvitt Lys Over Skogen", that
appears on the italian tribute "Burzum, a man, a band, a symbol"
issued in 2004 by the underground label Wotan Reich (r.i.p.) in pro
Cd-r version, limited to 500 copies.
On
July 2004 they recorded the promo "Black Arctic Sun". In September
Laarin left Imago Mortis replaced by Scighéra.

The
band achieves in a short time a deal with the Drakkar Productions
for the release of the album “Una Foresta Dimenticata” (A Forgotten
Forest) that see the darkness in 1000 copies in November 2006,
earning good international favor.

In
the spring 2007 Heltron decides to leave the Imago Mortis for
personal motivations, he was replaced by the guitarist Faust. In
December of the same year Drakkar Producions realizes the reprint
"Mors Triumphalis" on cd version containing the homonym demo/album,
the demo "Danza Macabra" and bonus tracks.
In
April 2008 Imago Mortis decide to split their path with Fenrir.
Bjorgor is the name of the new Imago Mortis drummer.
Between the end of 2008 and the first months of 2009 the band
recorded the new album “Ars Obscura” at the Alfa Omega Studios,
that will see obscurity under the sign of Drakkar Productions.
In July 2009 Biorgor left the band due to some health problems, and
was replaced by the new drummer Axor.
The
obscure horde continues its journey under the sign of Drakkar
Productions.
